Spedding recalls, There was one song, 'Heart On My Sleeve' where I'd wished I'd been able to make some suggestions at the backing track session. Because I got to the studio I thought the backing track was awful. I couldn't play my part to it at all. In those days, drum machines were very primitive and we rarely used them but I had one at home. I went home and got mine and recorded my guitar part as I thought it should sound and said, 'Get the other guys in tomorrow to play my part and it'll be O.K.' And that is how that song came to be recorded.
